GroundReport June 09 Payment Finally Sent!

I was pleased to received the June 2009 GroundReport payment. Along with the payment was the explanation why there was no payment for the unique visits for the month of April and May 2009. The explanation as follows:

It was really unknown for the past few months what was happening to GroundReport as there were no payments. But GroundReport is a genuine freelance community liberalized jornalism website and I have great faith in this website. So I did not worry and kept on writing. [NEWS] Delay Payment With GroundReport.Com

I have realized that there has been a delay for the payment by GroundReport, a freelance liberalized journalism website that pays writers for their work. The payment is based on advertisement revenue sharing.

I went on to check the FAQ and it was still the same, payment will be made at the end of the following month. It could be just me as it could be a technical fault. But there has been delay in payment previously in late 2008 and early 2009. My last payment were made to me in March 2009. It was said to be for the month of February and March 2009. I cannot be sure because I cannot remember vividly. If I am not wrong, I believe that the payment made to me in March 2009 should be for February 2009. But the problem now is that my April and May 2009 payments have not been received.

I am only now just sent a message to the administrator of GroundReport for assistance. I will update here on the status of this feedback. I have also tried to solicit some feedback from web 2.0 communities like Forums to check if I am the only one experiencing this problem.

GroundReport all in all is a really good get paid to write website and I really enjoy writing with it.

[NEWS] Helium Update On Article Tool

News from Helium.

It seems that Helium has made some changes with its article tools and it is now possible to paste from words and link management. The changes would probably address to the difficulties faced by writers when making 'hyperlink' to words.

On Wednesday, May 6, we updated Helium to a new version of the site editor along with some related changes under the covers. The editor is used when you add an article, create a leapfrog, or add or edit bio information. The main impetus for the change is to address the difficulties some people were having with managing links in the article text.

The most significant addition to the editor is the ‘Paste from Word’ feature.

Adding links to your articles

The way you link and unlink text when creating an article hasn’t changed. The link and unlink tools look like this on the toolbar:

Highlight the text you want to link, and use the ‘link’ tool from the toolbar to add link information. To remove the link, you should be able to place your cursor anywhere in the linked text and select the ‘unlink’ tool from the toolbar. You can also select any portion of the link text and use the unlink tool. You will see improved accuracy with the link picking up exactly what you want to link, and staying that way.

Pasting content into the editor

There is a new, easy way to get your content onto Helium: Use the “Paste from Word” button atop the text editor window in the Write flow.

The Paste from Word button looks like this on the toolbar (and the words “Paste from Word” show up when you scroll over it):

Please use Paste from Word by default. If you experiment with regular paste and it works, fine. If not, clear out everything you’ve done and try Paste from Word.

You can paste any content - just not content from various versions of Microsoft Word - into the window that pops up when you click the Paste from Word button. When you click on the ‘Insert’ button, the editor will strip out all the extra “hidden” formatting that can cause problems later and insert your text into the main editor window. You should then check the formatting of your article and add or fix links in the main editor window before publishing the article. The same applies to your bio text.

Article preview

Article preview has been simplified a little and should now more accurately reflect the formatting and links in your article.

Always preview your article before hitting the publish or submit button.

[NEWS] Is Bux Turning Into A Scam?

Well, judging from the resentment going on with its official forum, it does seems to be causing some worries for the members. My advise is not to put in anymore money into Bux as it is too risky to invest in it now. The payment backlog are still at February 2008 which I cannot help wondering whether it is a cash flow problem or a genuine operational backlog. Well, it is too soon to come to a conjecture.

I could not help but to think of the situation now with Bux is very similar with a PTC which collapsed last year which is known as Paid.Nu. The forum was like Bux forum now with members just keep asking and only moderators are answering the same thing over and over again. No sign of the owner. And true enough, after a few months, it packed up and left members who invested their money utterly scammed.

It seems to be rather alarming from the way I look at it after looking through Bux's official forum. Read the posts in the forum to find out yourself. Lets just wait and see whether I can get my 4 digit payout in due course. But the purchased referrals are not moving one bit at all. Earning has drastically fell.

This will be the last PTC that I will be getting myself involved in online earning. From now on, it will be purely get paid to write, review and so on opportunities that I will be focusing on.

News: China Government Warned Search Engines For Porn And Scams

Recently, what happened was that the Chinese Government had issued a statement to both Search Engine Giants, Google and MSN that their search engines contents links that are both pornographic and vulgar.

The Chinese Government has deliberated that most of the users are less tnan 30 years of age and it is a worrying problem that pornography could affect their minds. Strict measures on porn to banned all pornographic websites are being enforced. Google and MSN were being warned that if they do not do something about it, their website could be banned. This will be an enormous amount of users that we are talking about. Google had reply in an official statement that they had already removed pornograhic websites from its engine.

I think what the stance which Chinese Government has undertaken is right as explicit material on the Internet could generally hurt the young minds of their country. China being a very fast growing country in its users, could result in a social problem if this is not proportionally controlled and that is why the fight against explicit content is necessary.

On its own front, Baidu, China's very own search engine provider has also been in the limelight, known as the search engine scandal. Baidu has been alleged to have unlicensed medicine advertisers into their search platform and had led users from China to click into these links which sells allegedly useless but expensive medicines. In the offical response by Baidu's chief, they are currently looking into ways which involves layers of check on these licenses on medications. In my opinion, this is critical as to prevent such scams from affecting the overall sentiment towards the security and the authenticity of Internet transactions.

If you are a member of Helium, you would probably received the below email. Well, I must really agree with the content that the earning of Helium had magnificently increased. However, I am still rather prudent in posting articles in Helium. Because if I just simply submit articles that I am not confident on, I would probably ended it up with a low ranking article in which would pull down my overall writing percentile.
